The Center for Public Health Quality (CPHQ) is partnering with the Association of Maternal and Child Health Programs (AMCHP) to develop and implement a Quality Improvement (QI) Training Program to increase the QI knowledge and capacity among AMCHP staff. AMCHP supports state maternal and child health programs and provides national leadership on issues affecting women and children. This program is important because it will aid in improving internal processes, as well as external services AMCHP provides to the maternal and child health programs they assist across all US states and territories.
By training AMCHP staff, the aim is to not only increase the capacity of the workforce to understand, select, and use QI methods and tools but to also further enhance AMCHP’s culture of continuous quality improvement. The program will last seven months and will consist of five educational webinars, two on-site workshops, and monthly coaching huddles with AMCHP’s QI project teams.
