Each year, a new cohort of Quality Improvement Advisors (QIAs) completes the QIA program. Two cohorts, including a pilot cohort, have completed the training and a third cohort is currently participating in the program. These QIAs are trained to provide QI support within their agencies and assist leaders with creating a CQI culture and infrastructure.
CPHQ is initiating a new Life Long Learning Phase as a critical component of the current QIA program. The aim of this phase is to foster a culture of lifelong learning within a QIA Alumni Network by increasing communication, collaboration, and the sharing of knowledge among QIAs. CPHQ will utilize interactive mediums, both online and in-person, to connect QIAs with each other and with ongoing learning and professional development. The goals of the initiative are to have participants become highly confident in their ability to use QI methods and tools, to be highly satisfied with their professional development and to have their organizations improve their culture.
“This new continuous learning component is essential,” according to Greg Randolph, Director of CPHQ. “QIA Alumni are tasked with the audacious goal of helping transform public health organizations by embedding CQI into their culture and infrastructure – the collective, ongoing peer to peer learning by QIA alumni in this program should greatly increase their success.”
